European kitchens are also free-hanging/supported from the wall (meaning you can un-hang your cabinets) vs. the American cabinetry, which upon removal will destroy both the drywall and cabinetry.
The newest hardwares include self-closing drawers, softstopp on cabinets, cabinets or shelves or cook top hobs can be moved down on a push of a button, automatically opening cabinets (a plus for disabled, elderly or short statued people)... etc
European kitchen design offer ergonomic work heights, meaning that there is a lower working height a for cooktop as for a sink unit.
Also not only ovens are elevated to an ergonomic height but also dishwashers, so no one has to bend down anymore to unload the dishes.

They are so well engineered. The doors work well, the hinges work, and the quality is excellent.
the European quality is superior they have an evolved look with interesting finishes and details. They also lift the cabinets off the floor.Europeans view their kitchen cabinetry quite differently than Americans typically do .In the USA, everything [ the high end] is custom built “but the European systems cannot be beat. The authors give details such as standard counter heights that other books skip. The photos are terrific. It doesn't offer much for people who've been through several remodels or planning new kitchens in a custom home. They also omit to mention the tedium of microwaved food for six months, sliding completion dates and escalating costs (muliply time by three and money by two to get a real figure, and I'm not joking), and the reality of washing dishes in the bathtub. Reminder memo to self: you must prevent food scraps from ever reaching the tub drain- there is no garbage disposal. The “Kitchens That Work : The Practical Guide to Creating a Great Kitchen” book is great for planning, with a lot of details that would prevent a first-time kitchen remodeler from making a lot of mistakes.
